Hey there!
My name is Liz Riccio and I am the proud founder and speech language pathologist behind The Sunshine Speech Company. With over a decade of experience working with kids and 5 awesome years as a speech therapist with experience in private practice, hospital, and school settings I'm dedicated to empowering children and their families. I've got a Master's degree in Communication Disorders, am certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), licensed by South Carolina Board of Speech-Language Pathology, and am always learning new ways to help kids shine.
I noticed that sometimes families feel a little cloudy when it comes to therapy, so I decided to switch things up and create a super positive, sunshiny environment where everyone feels encouraged and supported. I believe that when caregivers learn about their child's strengths and needs in a cheerful atmosphere, that's when the real magic happens! As your speech therapist and biggest fan, I'm committed to creating a warm, welcoming space where children and their families can grow, learn, and smile together.

Speech Sound Disorders:
difficulties producing specific sounds (articulation) or sound patterns (phonology), or with motor planning of speech (Apraxia).
Language Disorders:
challenges with understanding language (receptive), using language appropriately (expressive), and/or difficulties with the social use of language (pragmatic).
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC):
assistance in determining and implementing alternative methods of communication for individuals who are non-speaking or have limited verbal skills.
Pediatric Feeding Disorders:
difficulty eating or drinking that can affect growth, nutrition and overall well-being of your child which may present itself as “picky” eating, trouble chewing or swallowing, avoidance of textures or types of food, difficulty transitioning to solids, and more.
